Reflex Testing – Information for GP Practices
Please be aware that you may occasionally receive results for tests that were not originally requested. This occurs when an initial
abnormal or out‑of‑range result automatically triggers a reflex test. Reflex testing is undertaken to support clinical
decision‑making by providing a more complete diagnostic picture and ensuring that all required processes are followed appropriately.
If you have any queries, or if you are unsure why an additional test has been performed, please contact the Pathology Service Desk via your usual support route.
